Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
The James Bond
After years of knowing each other as brother and sister in the Lord, God’s divine timing and providence has brought us together to do a work for Him in these last days. We believe that the Lord has yoked us together for a purpose, and our desire is to fulfill His will for our lives.
We believe the pattern for marriage is Ephesians 5:22-33, which describes the marriage relationship. The marriage bond, or covenant, is a symbol of the covenant relationship that Christ has with His Church.
The James Family Crest signifies a family covenant. The hand shake at the bottom center represents an agreement of terms. The James Family, with Sylvester Julian James as the patriarch, entered into a covenant relationship and agreement with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
This family covenant is depicted on the crest in the following symbols: The blood droplets signifies the blood of Jesus Christ. The blood of Christ wipes away the sin that was inherited from the fall of Adam and Eve. It rewrites the DNA so that we are no longer bound to the sins that once ruled us. Through the new birth in Christ Jesus, we now have the power to overcome sin and live as a new person.
The dove represents the Holy Spirit. This is the new birth experience God provides after we repent and turn from our sins. After being born again of the Spirit, can one truly live a new life as a new person and set the course for the next generations to come.
Next is the quiver filled with 5 arrows. Each of these arrows represents one of the James children: Levi, Loyal, Lathan, Joliah, and Hannalyn.
As we enter into the covenant of marriage, we re-affirm this covenant with Jesus Christ at the center. Thus, the threefold cord of marriage is established between Jesus Christ, Sylvester, and Niomi. This is the James Bond.
